The primary role of the Head of Lighting is to manage and deliver projects successfully to the Company's expectations, ensuring quality, professionalism and profitability. This process may be in conjunction with a Sales team member or other members of the Company Management; however, it is expected that the role can initiate, develop, sustain and manage the entire Lighting department including equipment and ram members.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Coordination of all Lighting department activities

  • Ensure Lighting equipment is set up properly and consistently with the show concept including communication systems.

  • Operation of Lighting systems (Grand MA, Avolites, DTS Lighting, Robe, Clay Paky, ETC)

  • During large-scale conferences, outdoor concert events, outdoor activation events

  • Operation of the conference and large-scale lighting systems, Apple Mac, and Microsoft operating system

  • Supervision of the Lighting department staff and freelance technicians, Including training and up-skill of junior technicians

  • Troubleshoot of Lighting equipment

  • Inspect and maintenance of all items associated with Lighting department - Service department available but should have a general knowledge of maintenance and repair.

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all equipment in the Lighting department.

  • Knowledge of large-scale Lighting systems will be required, specification and ability to create 3D Lighting design renders using capture software, Lighting Plans, 3D Lighting Design, System Patching and Moving Light control.

  • Assist with set up and tear down of all show equipment.

  • Carry out all other tasks requested by the Operations manager and MD.

  • Report all accidents/incidents immediately to the OM and MD

  • Abide by all company rules and bylaws.

  • Ensure that internal communications are as efficient as possible and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the technical team.

  • Attend and participate in technical team meetings.

  • Cross-departmental work is expected where appropriate.

 

Required experience: -

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a Senior Lighting department role is required.

  • Exceptional understanding of all technical aspects of Large scale Lighting setups, Lighting

  • Desk setup and Control (Grand MA & Avolites), Network Processing, Lighting control and planning, operating large-scale events with high-end clientele, Ability to use Sketch Up and other 3D rendering programs including Capture.

  • Basic knowledge of Audio and Video is An Advantage.

  • Project Management experience will be essential.

  • Experience in corporate, live events and concerts

  • Flexibility, autonomy, and leadership

  • Must be a team player.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Good communication skills
