HEAD OF SALES - EXHIBITIONS
We are looking for a proven sales leader who can drive and accelerate revenue for this flagship event. In this senior role, the individual will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, whilst leading and developing the sales team to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
The head of exhibition sales role involves reporting to the Commercial Director and overseeing exhibition and sponsorship revenues for international events. The primary focus is on selling exhibition space across global markets, ensuring maximum revenue and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is analytical, creative, and capable of handling multiple projects efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Revenue Maximization: Collaborate with the Commercial Director to optimize event exhibition and sponsorship income.
- Client Targeting and Sales: Identify potential clients, sell from conceptual stages, follow up on campaigns, and ensure sales goals are met.
- Campaign Execution: Plan and execute B2B sponsorship and exhibition sales strategies while ensuring a smooth customer experience.
- Market Analysis: Analyze vendor landscapes, identify industry trends, monitor competitors, and refine target market strategies.
- Database Management: Build and enhance the vendor database for accurate targeting.
- Proposal Development: Create appealing packages and manage timelines to meet objectives.
- Retention and Acquisition: Evaluate and improve customer retention and acquisition strategies.
- Sales and Marketing Coordination: Collaborate with marketing managers to align sales and sponsorship campaigns.
- Budget Management: Develop and oversee budgets for campaigns.
- Exhibitor/Sponsor Liaison: Work closely with event teams to meet client expectations and address needs on-site.
- Event Attendance: Re-book sponsors and secure commitments for future events during exhibitions.
- Industry Research: Stay updated on industry trends to discover new sponsorship opportunities.
Requirements:-
- Over 5 years experience of managing a sales team and managers within an events business
- Proven B2B exhibition sales experience, preferably in the energy sector.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and customer focus.
- Skilled in contract management, proposal writing, and budget management.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple projects under deadlines.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficient in databases (preferably Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.
- Fluent in business English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
