Basic Function:
Oversee and assist with the organization and coordination of marketing materials for all exhibitions across the full Marketing mix.
Manage and oversee the full exhibitor promotion and visitor promotion campaigns, with support from the marketing executive, for our entire portfolio of events (4 annually).
To develop integrated and cross-channel marketing campaigns to promote exhibitions with key objectives in mind. These channels include but are not limited to Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), press releases, print media (such as advertisements), pop-up campaigns, general marketing collateral, live re-targeting platforms and online communications through our websites.
Responsibilities
To work very closely with the Operations team to ensure all marketing materials have been created and finished within a timely manner (e.g Exhibitor Manual, Exhibitor downloadable assets). An additional key element is the design and implementation of all event signage.
Manage and work closely with exhibitors, show partners, and media partners to ensure that all agreed marketing and promotional communications have been achieved.
Work extremely closely with International parties to ensure that they have the materials that they need to complete marketing tasks within that Country (e.g. Pop-up events & telemarketing activities).
Source new media partners, create media partnership contracts and ensure a schedule is kept up-to-date.
Confidently liaise with Media & Press houses (sourcing of press kits etc).
To take ownership of the marketing communications planner/ drop-schedule/ trackers.
Ensure deadlines are being communicated and kept, e.g. make sure exhibitors submit content in time.
Liaise with third party designers to create signage, literature and promotional materials, both pre and post-show. The Marketing Executive must own this process, be capable of putting together compelling artwork briefs and keep artwork trackers up to date.
Send full briefing documents to on-site parties such as photographers and videographers. The Marketing Executive will also be involved in sourcing these individuals.
Be confident to speak to exhibitors, third party designers, suppliers, contractors over the phone.
Manage the development, production, and distribution of promotional and collateral materials to promote various exhibitions.
Participate in budget development and support budget management when required.
Copy-write, copy-read and prepare written materials including marketing copy, press releases, e-shots and radio advertisement jingles.
Be responsible for ensuring accuracy in information and proofreading.
Analyse marketing and communications programs and make recommendations to adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.
Work extremely closely with the rest of the team, providing weekly catch-up’s and problem solving sessions if necessary.
Create realistic departmental targets, aims and objectives- with the view of analysing the output.
Support the Sales team with any adhoc marketing needs.
Key requirements
Create marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules.
Ensures that the branding of each exhibition is thorough and consistent throughout all comm’s.
Analyse data and campaign findings to highlight trends and patterns to improve future activities.
Report progress to Senior Management.
Degree in Communications or Marketing.
Experience within the exhibition environment/ trade show attendance.
Excellent organisational skills.
Experience with Major Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter,
LinkedIn).
Strong PR experience (Both writing copy and proof reading).
Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
Experience of managing outsourced design agencies and writing complex design briefs.
Attention to detail.
Self-Motivated.
Creative Problem-Solving Skills.
Ability to perform basic calculations.
Ability to use basic computer programs and mobile applications is a must (word, excel, outlook, WhatsApp etc.).
Basic knowledge of Google Ad Words/ Analytics.
The ability to look outside of traditional marketing methods.
Basic knowledge of databases.
To be able to work well on their own as well as a team.
‘Can do’ attitude and willingness to complete tasks that are not necessarily strictly within their remit.
A creative but rational approach.
Knowledge of web hosting platforms (e.g. Word Press).
Basic knowledge of Photoshop would be advantageous but not essential.
