ESMOS is delighted to assist in recruiting a Portfolio Director for one of our clients. We're committed to finding the perfect candidate to contribute to the success of their upcoming events.

The Portfolio Director oversees the exhibition portfolio, aligning it with strategic and  is responsible for sales strategy and planning; your role encompasses several key responsibilities:

  • Develop Effective Sales Collaterals and Presentations: Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales collaterals and presentations that effectively showcase the value proposition of your products or services. Develop marketing plans to ensure the positioning and image of the show are aligned with business objectives.

  • Set, Manage, and Monitor Sales Targets: Establish clear sales targets for each salesperson and the international sales network. Continuously monitor progress against targets and provide support and guidance to ensure goals are met. Review and develop new sales networks and channels to enhance overall sales performance in alignment with revenue targets.

  • Provide Training for Sales Teams: Conduct training sessions for the existing sales team and new sales agents to enhance their sales effectiveness. Equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive sales performance and meet objectives.

  • Supervise and Optimize Planning Processes: Oversee the annual, quarterly, and monthly planning processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and revenue targets. Evaluate and optimize operational processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor sales progress regularly and make adjustments as needed to stay on track.

  • Develop New Revenue Streams: Identify opportunities to develop new revenue streams and expand the product portfolio. Maintain prospects lists and undertake research and analysis on potential additional product profiles. Develop innovative approaches to e-selling, phone selling, and personal visits of clients in consultation with the Chief Commercial Director.

  • Prepare Business Reports and Performance Updates: Generate comprehensive business reports and performance updates for the Chief Commercial Director. Include timelines, milestones, and gap analysis to provide insights into sales performance and areas for improvement.

Overall, your role is critical in driving sales growth, optimising sales processes, and ensuring the effective execution of sales strategies to meet business objectives.

Internal: Sales, Marketing, Operations, CRM, HR, IT, Finance

External: Trade associations, exhibitors, publications, media, government agencies, key accounts, sales partners, headquarter, visitors and other relevant industry groups.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Economics, Event Management, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field

  • 5+ years experience in sales management and exhibition industry

  • High ethical standards: integrity, objectivity, honesty, due care

  • Organized, efficient, attention to detail, proficient in analytics

  • Confident, competent communication, responsiveness, persuasiveness

  • High commitment, initiative, team player

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel

  • Critical thinking, application of accounting principles

  • Strong numerical calculation skills for problem-solving

  • Ability to record financial information, create statements

  • Effective written and verbal communication in English

  • B2B Exhibition experience is a must
