The Sponsorship Manager is responsible for selling multi-channel sponsorship and digital opportunities, reflected by the markets and the continents they serve locally and internationally. 

You will work closely with the relevant departments in maximising sponsorship revenue while effectively targeting clients to sell on the integrity of the programme, follow up on marketing campaigns, oversee sponsorship contracts and help achieve optimum results. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the execution of B2B sponsorship sales, analytical and creative and can successfully deliver against multiple elements throughout the year – efficiently and effectively following a plan to meet targets and ensure a premium customer experience.

Accountabilities: 

  • Identify and research potential sponsors for our events and programs

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors

  • Develop customized sponsorship packages that meet the needs of sponsors and align with our organization's goals

  • Negotiate sponsorship agreements and manage the fulfillment of sponsor benefits

  • Track and report on sponsorship revenue and expenses

  • Develop post-event reports and debriefs for sponsors

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of sponsorship activations

  • Attend and represent the organization at industry events and conferences

  • Conduct negotiation of extension of sponsorship agreements.

  • Craft official responses to sponsors' dissatisfaction with sponsorship agreements.

  • Develop plans to close gaps in sponsorship portfolio.

  • Develop proposals in alignment with sponsorship strategies.

  • Develop sponsorship strategies with insights from market research, portfolio gap analysis and overall strategies.

  • Enforce corporate governance measures.

  • Evaluate how the latest technology trends can be used to improve productivity and innovation.

  • Formulate research parameters to identify industry and market trends for the development of sponsorship strategies.

  • Identify potential sponsors to support new sponsorships for the organisation.

  • Implement the department's recruitment and retention efforts.

  • Manage budgets in alignment with departmental work plans.

  • Manage execution of sponsorship agreements.

  • Manage official responses to unfulfilled deliverables of the sponsorship agreements.

  • Manage to onboard new sponsors.

  • Propose department budgets for management approval.

  • Propose sponsorship performance metrics and key performance indicators.

  • Provide on-the-job training to staff.

  • Recommend improvements for future events to achieve better outcomes for sponsors.

  • Review terms of sponsorship agreements to ensure they are financially viable.
