We are seeking to appoint a Senior Director – Projects, a critical leadership hire responsible for reshaping and leading the full project delivery function across a portfolio of large-scale, high-profile events and live experiences.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution — driving operational excellence, building structure within delivery teams, and ensuring world-class execution across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, this individual will play a key role in elevating delivery standards, improving efficiencies, and building a high-performing project organisation.
The Opportunity
This is a transformation-focused role for a senior operator who thrives in fast-paced, high- volume environments. You will be tasked with bringing structure, consistency, and accountability to project delivery, while empowering teams to execute at the highest level.
You will oversee the full lifecycle of project execution — from planning and resource allocation through to on-ground delivery and post-event evaluation — ensuring every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and restructure the project management and delivery function, implementing best-in-class processes and governance
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of large-scale events and live experiences, ensuring operational excellence across all touchpoints
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, scalable project team, setting clear KPIs and performance standards
- Drive resource planning, budgeting, and cost control, ensuring efficient allocation across multiple concurrent projects
- Establish and enforce project management frameworks, tools, and reporting structures
- Act as a senior escalation point, proactively managing risk and resolving complex operational challenges
- Collaborate closely with commercial, creative, and production teams to ensure alignment between client expectations and delivery
- Lead post-project reviews, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Contribute to wider business strategy, supporting growth through scalable delivery models and operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in large-scale events, live experiences, exhibitions, or complex project environments
- Demonstrated success in building, restructuring, and leading project delivery teams
- Strong operational and commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, margins, and resource allocation
- Deep understanding of end-to-end event delivery, including production, logistics, stakeholder management, and on-site execution
- Experience managing multiple high-value, high-pressure projects simultaneously
- A structured, process-driven mindset with the ability to implement scalable systems and frameworks
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior stakeholder level
